My Barbie

Rainbow Short Skirt

Using leftover yarn, I create a simple short skirt for Steffi. The pattern came from my brain :) And I put snap button on the back of the skirt.

This is first dress I make since a long time ago. I made a promise to my friend in Bonn to make a Barbie dress for her daughter when I start crocheting again. Instead of Barbie, I make dress for Steffi. Both of the doll are 11,5 inches doll and they both had the same measurement.

The yarn was rainbow color and made from polyester. I bought it in one euro store. That’s the smallest yarn I can found there. I used 3 mm crochet needle.

The set include dress, a shrug, shawl, hairband, and a purse. On the back of the dress I used crochet string to tighten the back.

My Very First Barbie

I remember bought a Barbie doll when I was in elementary school. I used my own money to buy the doll. It was Beach Blast Barbie (1989) with a blond hair and a hair clip that can change color into pink if you exposed it to the sun. At the same time my sister bought Skipper (Beach Blast Skipper).

I always like played with my barbie. After a while I think my barbie need more clothes. So I start to make a simple clothes made of cotton, jeans and other old material I can found. At that time, I was able to used sewing machine or hand sewing.

Besides clothes, I make barbie's bed. My sister bought pool side chair from some toy seller. It was a quite cheap. I also make Barbie's closet from shoe box.

Beside sewing Barbie dress, I also learn to make crochet dress. One of my late aunt taught me how to crochet. At that time, I have plenty of dress with minimal budget.

I'll make some picture of my old Barbie and the clothes I make if I went back to Jakarta.

Halter Top with Fringe & Bikini

Wow... after I make 2 dress and hat, I still have plenty of peach cotton yarn. I decided to make halter top with fringe and bikini. Halter top pattern can be found in here while I make my own design for bikini. I put snap button on the back of bikini top.

Peach Summer Dress

I still have some leftover peach yarn from my tea party dress. So I decided to make other dress. I called it summer dress. It’s a modification from a picture I saw. I also make a hat that matched the dress. For hat’s pattern I got from here.

Tea Party Dress

I got this yarn when I visited one of yarn store in Bonn, Germany. At that time I make some dress for Steffi. I made this without pattern. I look at one picture and start to make a dress with my peach yarn. I also make a purse with the same yarn. I use number 10 cotton yarn, 2/0 crochet needle and snap button in the back.

It's been a while since I created this blog and post something in here. So I decided to make this my blog for Barbie's stuff that I make. I know there's plenty of website about barbie but I still want to add something that I make. I got the pattern for dresses from website with a little bit changes in here and there.
