Source of Ideas

Do you ever wonder where the ideas of making dresses and other stuffs come from? I listed some of them on my blog walking on the right side of this page. My favorites are My Froggy Stuff, Fashion Doll Shoes, Crochet for Barbie & Miss B. Couture. There so many ideas come from them. Beside that sometime the idea just pop up in my mind or after I see in magazines. So...the ideas can come from everywhere. Hope this can give you and idea where you can look around :)

Felt Boots

When I search some website about Barbie, I found one that show how to make a pair of boot from felt. It’s easy to make, so I make one pair for Steffi. Nice boot for winter :)

Black Slacks

The clothes collection did not complete without a pair of slacks. I create my own slacks pattern and try it out. I use black material to make a pair of slacks. It turn out not as I expected, but it seems OK for a while.

The slacks can be matched with white peasant top.

White Long Skirt

Need a match skirt for the peasant top, I make white long skirt with flower embroidery that match the top. I make my own pattern. 

White Peasant Blouse

I saw this blog and think about making it for Steffi. I use white material and adding some red flower embroidery to make it more colorful.

Black & White Dress

With the white and black material I found, I decided to make white & black dress. I used the same pattern with mantel, This dress will be a nice match with the felt mantel.

I used snap button on the back of the dress.

Felt Mantel

I run out of yarn. So I explore sewing stuffs that my friend had. In the box I found some felt material and also white and black material. I decided to make a mantel/jacket from dark blue felt.

After measured Steffi, I found out how to make basic pattern on the website. From that tutorial, I make a pattern for jacket. This is first pattern I make. because I learn to sew by autodidact. 

Not so bad for first pattern. The mantel turn out pretty nice. I add some chain embroidery around the mantel with silver thread. Add some belt to make it nicer. This mantel was hand sewing.

Rainbow Short Skirt

Using leftover yarn, I create a simple short skirt for Steffi. The pattern came from my brain :) And I put snap button on the back of the skirt.

Rainbow Dress

This is first dress I make since a long time ago. I made a promise to my friend in Bonn to make a Barbie dress for her daughter when I start crocheting again. Instead of Barbie, I make dress for Steffi. Both of the doll are 11,5 inches doll and they both had the same measurement.

The yarn was rainbow color and made from polyester. I bought it in one euro store. That’s the smallest yarn I can found there. I used 3 mm crochet needle. 

The set include dress, a shrug, shawl, hairband, and a purse. On the back of the dress I used crochet string to tighten the back.
